“Wavespotting” with Melanie Young, PsyD & Emily Schottman, OD, LPC
Wavespotting is a powerful resource model which can be utilized anytime during a Brainspotting session to lower a client’s activation. Wavespotting is also an effective tool to ground the client toward the end of a session. During this virtual Brown Bag lunch, you will learn the Wavespotting technique through presentation, a brief video demonstration, and time to practice.
Melanie Young, PsyD received her doctorate from the University of Denver, School of Psychology. She has over 35 years of clinical experience. She assists adolescents, adults, and seniors in overcoming difficulties with trauma, mood issues, anxiety, grief, brain injuries, ADD, and chronic illness. She was trained in Brainspotting in 2007. Dr. Emily Schottman is a retired Functional Optometrist, LPC, and Brainspotting Consultant in Austin, TX. Her post-doc fellowship in Vision Department led to a return to school for a Master’s in Counseling to better understand eye-brain-body connections.
