“Moneyspotting” with Maria Gray, LMFT
In this Brown Bag seminar, attendees will learn about Moneyspotting- a series of Brainspotting setups designed to explore and reduce clients’ psychobiological blockages to financial well-being.
Clients who have experienced developmental trauma usually struggle with self-worth; this can impact their relationship with money and earning. This can show up in a myriad of ways including generalized financial anxiety, underearning, overworking, debting, hoarding, etc. Often money gets coupled with security and people feel intense fear and anxiety during financial transactions. Clients who are service providers often struggle with raising their fees and charging for cancellations.
The training begins with an exploration of attendees’ thoughts and feelings about money and financial countertransference. Then we’ll move into the setups and how to apply them to our work with clients. These setups include some optional pre-work to help clients clarify their understanding of their intentions for Moneyspotting. The brown bag lunch will offer an overview of the optional pre-work for Moneyspotting, one of the setups and a brief online demo.
