“Brainspotting with Breathing, Mindfulness, and Grounding Techniques” with Joanne Baum, PhD, LCSW

In the last few years, we have all been aware of a huge increase in free floating anxiety affecting people.  I have found a large group of people needing help with down-regulating and learning how to deal with anxiety in their lives.  Negative self-talk seems to increase as their anxiety increases (which people are referring to as  “hating on myself.”)  Brainspotting has been very helpful for people as well as sharing a variety of breathing techniques and grounding techniques that people can use in between session. I’ve developed a “wellness” scale they can use to check in with themselves during the day and if they go above a pre-specified level where they “want to be” they can use the techniques they’ve learned to downregulate themselves and relax.
