“Authentic Movement & Brainspotting: A New Experience Between” with Virginia Hill, BC-DMT, LCMHC, CRC
This talk will introduce participants to foundational concepts of Authentic Movement, a dance/movement therapy intervention, and to the fundamentals of Brainspotting, highlighting the similarities of each, as well as their differences, to indicate viable points of integration. It will include the opportunity for participants to experience the integrated approach.
Virginia Hill is a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, as well as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She is also a certified Brainspotting clinician and consultant. She has worked in the psychosocial clubhouse environment, counseled in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, and counseled in juvenile justice and domestic violence communities. She encourages clients to reach their full potential, using strength-based movement approaches, while educating about wellness and recovery. Virginia directs the Roxie Rowland Therapeutic Arts Center, serving adults and adolescents and is a board member of the Carolina Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association.
