Mary Hartnett, Ph.D.
When I first learned Brainspotting with David Grand in 2007, after many years of doing EMDR therapy, I was so happy to see him using The Intuitive Sense of following the client’s processing in it’s free form way. I had already evolved my therapy style in this direction. I love his concepts of WAIT, “Why Am I Talking?”, and “Following the Tail of the Comet”. I enjoy learning how each individual client processes in their own way, at their own pace. I also enjoy the experience of learning how to speak their language and work with, and understand all of their sensory experiences. This combines well with my training in clinical hypnosis, and being able to work with “altered brain states”, and facilitate healing according to the clients’ best modalities, their metaphors, or their visualizations. I also work with healing intergenerational traumas.
I work with adults and adolescents, aged 14 and older, in individual and family therapy, doing primarily trauma work.
I also have a specialty in working with the gifted population, addressing issues of:
Oversensistivity, Perfectionism, Anxiety, Depression, Gifted Identity, ADHD and Bi-Polar symptoms, Achievement, and Imposter Syndrome.
I do In Person therapy in a beautiful, peaceful office space at the base of the foothills in Boulder.
