Lizzy Wagner is the owner of Green Mountain Counseling. She has a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Denver Seminary, has been counseling since 2003, and in private practice since 2008. Lizzy has a background in biology, public health, and non-profit leadership. Her passion for understanding the intersection between neurobiology and psychology led her to pursue training in EMDR (2009) and Brainspotting (since 2017). Lizzy has extensive knowledge of trauma, the breadth of best practice therapeutic interventions for trauma, its connection to attachment and relationships, and how the brain holds body, emotion and thought. She owns and operates a group practice, Green Mountain Counseling, where all practitioners, are trained in Brainspotting.
Lizzy passionate about helping you experience wholeness and freedom. She believes the stories we tell ourselves matter. Together, we’ll explore the stories you’ve been telling yourself, create mutual goals for therapy, and work as efficiently as possible to bring you relief and healing. Therapy with Lizzy feels caring and nurturing, yet straightforward and directive when it’s helpful. I’ll follow your lead but will intervene if I see you getting stuck or standing in the way of your own healing. When she’s not working, she love spending time with my husband and two daughter and getting outside as much as possible.
“My experience with Lizzy has been phenomenal. I can honestly say I got much more out of my sessions with her than with any other therapist I’ve seen. Her compassion and way of immediately seeing to the heart of a matter made me feel understood and gave my therapy a direction I’d not experienced before. I was able to use the techniques of EMDR and Brainspotting to progress in areas of my life in which I had felt completely stuck. Her experience and knowledge made me feel comfortable and secure.
