We are expected to survive traumatic experiences such as physical, sexual and emotional abuse and keep a smile on our face and pretend as if nothing bad happened to us. We are to keep good grades, go to work daily, and do everything that is asked of us even if we are struggling with sleep, depression, worry, intrusive memories and low motivation. I am here to be a witness to your story, validate your experience, and help you renegotiate your traumatic experiences. You will learn to move through life with more peace and a hope to reach those goals you have set for yourself.
I have over 25 years of experience working with all mental health challenges. I specialize in trauma. I am a student of Somatic Experiencing and have used EMDR since 2000. It might feel awkward tuning into your physical sensations but your body has stored invaluable information about where you have been and what you have been through. Brainspotting is another way in to your body that can help you renegotiate trauma and anxiety and help you heal.
