April 3rd, 2026 from 12-1:30PM Mountain Time
Recording Available; 1.5 CEs PENDING
This 90-minute training examines how developmental trauma and neurocognitive processes contribute to negative self-talk and self-criticism. Participants will learn how Brainspotting accesses subcortical belief networks to transform the embodied roots of the inner critic and support lasting self-compassion and adaptive self-concept.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe how developmental and attachment-based trauma shape negative self-talk and self-belief formation.
- Identify the primary neurocognitive networks involved in self-referential processing and inner speech.
- Explain how Brainspotting accesses subcortical belief and memory systems associated with the inner critic.
- Apply Brainspotting techniques to support the transformation of chronic self-criticism in clinical practice.
- Integrate trauma-informed and neurobiological frameworks to promote self-compassion and adaptive self-concept.
About Melanie:
Melanie T. Twite is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Brainspotting Consultant. She is a proud member of the Brainspotting community and regularly assists with Phase 1 and Phase 2 trainings. She also serves on the RMBI board. Her work is rooted in the belief that healing happens when people feel deeply seen, safe, and supported. After training in Brainspotting in 2019, she found a modality that not only transformed her professional work but reshaped her own healing journey. That experience continues to fuel her passion for guiding clinicians into a more embodied, trauma-informed approach—one that honors the nervous system, centers presence over performance, and creates space for clients to rediscover their strength and resilience. Through consulting, teaching, and her trauma-informed courses, Melanie helps practitioners move beyond “doing” Brainspotting and step into living it—bringing deeper attunement, clarity, and authenticity into every session.
