Myra Loving, LPC
As a trauma-trained therapist practicing for 28 years, I am decidedly eclectic having taken the trainings from EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and Brainspotting therapies and molded them into my practice so that I give clients what they need in each session and moment. I am in private practice, seeing adults and couples in Texas, and began my Brainspotting journey in 2021 when a colleague told me that I ‘ought to travel with him to a behavioral health symposium and attend Phase 1.’ After reading about it, I was sold! I have not looked back since and have taken Phase 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and attended two Instensives in Colorado, along with continually taking specialty trainings. Each of my clients has been introduced to Brainspotting, and since I haven’t been taking new clients for a few years, I offer to colleagues who have a ‘stuck’ client to come for a brainspotting session and then return to process from that session with their therapist. I have believed for many years that mindfulness and what we feel in our bodies affect how we do life! An aging client in my early years as a therapist taught me the ‘life is too short’ mantra. So, adding brainspotting into my therapy practice has been a gift to help clients live a more intentional life!
