Description
Practitioner Name: Matt Lewandowski

Specialty:

Therapy should leave you feeling better than when you arrived. Like a deep massage, the work can sometimes be uncomfortable, but the goal is lasting relief and real healing. I believe people are the experts on their own lives, and my role as your therapist is to help you use that expertise to overcome challenges, break patterns, and move toward healthier functioning.

I provide evidence-based therapy for depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, and stress. My therapeutic approach integrates person-centered, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based methods. I am a Certified Brainspotting Therapist and trained in EMDR, which allows me to offer trauma-focused treatment for PTSD, acute trauma, crisis recovery, and complex trauma.

I have extensive experience supporting athletes and high performers. In sports, we talk about performance being fifty percent physical and fifty percent mental. Yet most athletes never receive structured training for the mental side of the game. I help athletes strengthen mental resilience, reduce performance anxiety, improve focus, build confidence, and recover from setbacks so they can reach their full potential both on and off the field.

What to Expect in Therapy

Sessions are collaborative, practical, and relational. I focus on building a strong therapeutic connection so you feel understood, supported, and challenged in healthy ways. Together, we’ll develop coping skills, strengthen emotional resilience, and gently work through deeper beliefs that may be creating distress. I bring a blend of empathy, clinical insight, and humor to the work because therapy should feel human, not robotic.

I look forward to working together on this journey!

A Bit About Me

I’m a Midwest transplant who has always dreamed of building a life in Colorado. My wife and I made the move and are now raising our family here, grateful every day to call this place home. I grew up in Southeast Michigan and have lived in North Carolina, Indiana, and Ohio. Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me hiking, playing volleyball, golfing, reading, and fully immersed in football season. I’m loyal to both Michigan State and the Detroit Lions, for better or worse.
