Bridgette Anderson, Somatic Psychotherapy and Brainspotting

Description
Practitioner Name: Bridgette Anderson, MA, LMFT #124916

Life has a tendency to come at you fast. It may feel like you’re living with an outdated Operating System, one not designed to effectively handle the present day reality. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, drained, isolated or flailing, you’re not the only one. These, and more, are very normal reactions to the times we presently live in; times marked by overstimulation and under-connection. In some sense, my work as a therapist is to help you upgrade your personal OS to better suit your needs and desires.

The secret mission of therapy is help you reset your implicit settings – the habits, patterns, the running narrative that streams through your head and the felt sense that flows through your body.

Leveraging somatic practices, the latest in neuroscience and clinical intuition, I am here to help you contact your innate self-righting capacity and embodied wisdom – a personalized treasure trove. Sessions with me often include: attention to the body and the breath, meditation and visualization work, Brainspotting, humor and embodied metaphor.

A little about me.

The therapeutic relationship is integral to productive therapy. As a therapist, my clients have described me as solid and kind (born of Midwestern parents), scrappy (raised outside of Philadelphia), straight-talking (middle of two sisters), intuitive and playful.

Working as a Somatic Psychotherapist isn’t a job for me; it’s the culmination of my work, interests and personal life over the past 25 years. The ways in which people change, grow and soar and why, in fact, therapy works are my favorite topics. I have a Master’s Degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies in Somatic Psychotherapy and worked at the Center for Somatic Psychotherapy in San Francisco before going into private practice.
