I specialize in trauma and addictions and my longtime meditation and yoga practice informs my work as a therapist. I have a group psychotherapy practice in Los Angeles, CA where I specialize in trauma and addictions, and my ideal clients are adults who grew up around mentally ill or addictive family members.
I’m certified in both Brainspotting and EMDR and I’m an approved Brainspotting Consultant, and Assistant Brainspotting Trainer. I also completed a 2 year training and certification in the NeroAffective Relational Model (NARM), a clinical approach that combines a focus on the nervous system with an exploration and curiosity regarding clients’ thoughts and emotions. Dr. Laurence Heller created NARM, NARM supports the restoration of connection and aliveness to the nervous system that’s vital to our emotional health. NARM trained therapists work with both the physiology and psychology of clients who have experienced attachment, relational or developmental trauma, focusing on the client’s capacity for connection and nervous system regulation. These three therapeutic models are resource and wellness-oriented, as well as non-pathologizing. The emphasis is on helping clients re-establish connection to their bodies and to the parts of self that are organized, coherent and functional.
I'm a Certified Group Therapist (CGP). The combination of individual Brainspotting work and group therapy offers a solid foundation for clients who are recovering from developmental trauma. Most of us learn about relationships in our families, our first small group. Sometimes the lessons we learn in childhood no longer serve us as adults, and the best way to heal ourselves is by participating in a newer, healthier group. This experience can be so powerful that group members start behaving differently outside of group.
